Myra Piper - Elder

Myra Piper

Brief Statement of Faith: As a result of my belief in God, I have a strong desire to serve God in a way that I can also serve others. My desire is that my talents, abilities, and gifts be used, as God would direct, to nurture, encourage, support, and assist others.
The driving scripture for my service is Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV): "It is He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors, some to be teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

How have you seen God work in your life recently: God has been with our family through many difficult situations the past few years. They have not all been easy but God has provided healing from cancer, strength in the midst of turmoil, reuniting broken families, employment opportunities when needed, and peace in troubled times.

Share an answer to Prayer (in your life) that leaves you in awe: We have been blessed with two new babies in the family. Both were somewhat difficult pregnancies but one was an extremely difficult and troubled pregnancy that resulted in a premature delivery, which lead to a beautiful, strong, healthy baby boy that has blessed our lives immensely. He truly is a gift from God. We have also been blessed with an adorable little girl who brings a smile to us all.

If you could share one thing with others about your Christian walk what would it be: God has never failed me! He is always there to lead, encourage, inspire, comfort, calm and guide me.

Interests/Hobbies: Antiquing, Reading, Gardening, Refinishing/Repurposing Old Furniture, Spending Time with Family and Friends

Jeannie Tallman - Elder

Jeannie Tallman

Brief Statement of Faith: I believe Father God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to come to earth who suffered and died to pay the price for my sins (all men's sins) so the debt of sin is paid so we can have a personal relationship with Him if we, by faith, accept Him as the only Savior, follow only Him. He has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit to live in truth of God's Word. Once knowing Him personally, I declare He is more awesome than I had ever imagined. I am in awe of You, my Lord.

How have you seen God work in your life recently: For me, following the Lord daily is God working daily in my life. I feel that my worship is becoming so much deeper and meaningful. My prayers seem to have more depth. The Lord said "they will worship Me in Spirit and in truth." I fell that is growing.

Share an answer to Prayer (in your life) that leaves you in awe: My husband became ill and we were at the hospital and he actually flat lined. The staff at the hospital were racing around to revive him and I know God heard my prayers and he woke up. No damage done. Thank You, Lord.

Please don't let one moment pass you by without asking the Lord into your heart to follow Him, if you don't know him. He is truly everything you could ever want and need. His many promises are true. Jesus is the real deal and I love the Lord with all my heart.

Interests/Hobbies: My grandchildren

Mark Latesky - Elder

Mark Latesky

Brief Statement of Faith: I believe in God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that God sent his only son to die for us, so we could be forgiven and so that we could have eternal life with our Father in Heaven. Romans 5:1-5 tells us to rejoice in our sufferings. This is okay because God will always give us a way out of our trials because of His love for us.

How have you seen God work in your life recently: I have felt His protection and love for me and I find myself not sweating the small stuff, as much as I used to, because of my faith in Him.

Share an answer to Prayer (in your life) that leaves you in awe: Recently a series of storms have been forecast in my area. I asked God for protection and that the damage would be minimal. There were about 7 storms and all of them dissipated before they reached my area.

If you could share one thing with others about your Christian walk what would it be: After witnessing others relationships with God, and noticing their joy, I now know why they were/are so joyful since I too have a relationship with the Lord.

Interests/Hobbies: Computers, Sightseeing, Photography

Shirley Fader - Elder

Shirley Fader

Brief Statement of Faith: As a blood-washed, born again Christian, I believe in the Trinity: God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit. My personal relationship is vitally alive.

How have you seen God work in your life recently: After retiring last year from a 57 year nursing career, God has recently opened new doors of ministry for me.

Share an answer to Prayer (in your life) that leaves you in awe: God has performed many miracles for my in my lifetime - I am constantly in awe of His love and Grace. One such incident occurred on the freeway close to midnight when a pick-up truck topper flew off and headed straight for my van. The result was a small dent in my right front fender and a blown brake fluid line. An awesome save from a cry out to God!

If you could share one thing with others about your Christian walk what would it be: In the ups and downs of life God has always been there to protect, guide and direct me. What a mighty, faithful God we serve! No other way to live!

Interests/Hobbies: A gamet of interests: antiques, photography, baskey-weaving, sewing, teddy bears, over 200 books in my home library, 3 poems published by the International Library of Poetry. I feed birds, deer and an array of little critters in my back yard. Gardening and intercessory prayer.

Brenda Marlowe - Worship Leader

Brenda Marlow

Brief Statement of Faith: I was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ into my heart at age 12. Since then the Lord has been beside me every day. He has guided me, loved me, held me through tough times and rejoiced with me in good times. His promises are true and I can't wait to spend eternity in heaven with Him!

How have you seen God work in your life recently: The most recent would be leading me to Calvert Park. I wasn't looking for a change but I was becoming more discontent with my walk and purpose. Every sign pointed me to this journey and I am enjoying the experience!

Share an answer to Prayer (in your life) that leaves you in awe: Wow, there are so many! One that comes to mind was at a time when I was suffering from a severe depression. I went to my Pastor and set up a prayer time for anointing and healing with 3 friends. God answered that prayer through the faith of those around me and I experienced healing in many areas.

If you could share one thing with others about your Christian walk what would it be: I would have to say it would be God's faithfulness. Even when I would wander he was always there. God is a forgiving God who blesses us with 2nd... 3rd... etc. chances! He loves us and never leaves us!

Interests/Hobbies: Music, Reading, Hiking, Sewing
